BSW Intern
Description
The BSW Student Intern is a bachelor's-level practicum student who develops foundational social work skills in a supportive, trauma-informed private practice environment. Working under supervision, the intern serves as an initial point of contact for prospective clients and assists with client engagement, care coordination, and practice operations. Responsibilities include facilitating the client intake process, conducting screening consultations, matching prospective clients with appropriate therapists, responding to general inquiries, coordinating referrals, and supporting administrative and operational workflows. The BSW Student Intern also provides strengths-based case management services, assists with community resource navigation, participates in outreach activities, and collaborates with the clinical and operations teams to enhance client access to care. This placement emphasizes professional communication, ethical practice, client engagement, case management, interdisciplinary collaboration, and exposure to behavioral health practice operations.
Qualifications
Current BSW student enrolled in an accredited social work program; Eligible for field placement through their university; Strong interpersonal and communication skills; Interest in behavioral health, trauma-informed care, and private practice; Ability to work collaboratively while maintaining professional boundaries; Commitment of up to 25 hours per week, based on university requirements.
