November is…ROCKIN'
Happy November! This is the BEST of month of the year. Hands DOWN! Look at all the great stuff that’s going on.
This Tuesday, Nov 4 the United States presidential election will FINALLY be taking place. Americans (and those with dual citizenship) get out there and ROCK THE VOTE! For those who love American politics (and we know quite a few) check out this great mug from Uncommon Goods. Hours of fun!
Speaking of voting, iNSPiRED PRACTiCE is so excited about continuing our learning of Deep Democracy – an advanced facilitation toolkit that helps organizations, workplaces and groups of all kinds to achieve better decisions and overcome road blocks on the path to progress. Kristle is now a certified Green Belt Deep Democracy practitioner and will be helping to further develop Toronto and Winnipeg Communities of Practice. (By the way, that sweet fat sheep is a fabulous eco-friendly toy from sweetestpea.)
The Sustainable Style Show and Green Gala are great little events dreamed up by Fashion Takes Action. This year the events take place at Toronto’s Historic Distillery District on November 8. There will be lots of fantastic vendors and designers showcasing sustainable and style-conscious products and apparel.
CBC along with our boyfriend George Strombo have launched this fantastic website called ONE MILLION acts of green. We like this because we believe that every little bit MAKES A DIFFERENCE. Small actions mean BIG change. Visit the iNSPiRED PRACTiCE profile, join and add your own acts of green. PASS IT ON!
STOP the presses. The biggest NEWS of the month is… (drum roll please) the Children’s Health & Environment Partnership is holding an iNSPiRiNG public launch event on Thursday, November 27 at 5:30pm at the beautiful Manitoba Children’s Museum (45 Forks Market Road, The Great Hall).
Come laugh, play and sing! There will be yummy organic food, face painting and crafts for the KIDS.
The public launch will feature guest speaker Dr. Leigh Fraser-Roberts (Assistant Professor of Pediatrics & Child Health at the University of Manitoba) and a performance by the incomparable WINNIPEG POETRY SLAM TEAM. The invitation and RSVP info will be posted on this blog on Nov 4.
